B Shanny blows them away in Leon Reed Memorial Handicap

66th Stakes winner for Street Cry

Sent off as the 1/4 heavy favorite, Street Cry's B Shanny absolutely dominated the competition in the Leon Reed Memorial Handicap at Finger Lakes August 17.

In the six-furlong race B Shanny broke well and dashed to the front to set the pace. Increasing his margin around the turn, the gelding cleared away in the stretch by nearly five lengths for an easy gate-to-wire win.

Bred in Kentucky by Stonewall Farm, the four-year-old is out of G2 Cotillion Handicap winner and G1-placed Nothing But Fun and is from the family of Champions Highest Trump and Ajina.

Now the sire of 66 career Stakes winners, Street Cry has been represented by some of the top runners around the world. Among them are G1 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, record-breaking G1 sprinter Street Boss, and the legendary Horse Of The Year Zenyatta. 2013 has been headlined by G2 Lancashire Oaks winner Emirates Queen and G2 Australia Stakes winner Sea Lord for the sire.
