A brilliant display of speed and tenacity in Saturday’s G3 Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill has made Arcaded a possible starter in next weekend’s G1 Golden Slipper Stakes and given her sire Street Boss a second string in the world’s richest 2YO race.
Street Boss already has the classy Godolphin-owned colt Anamoe among the top prospects for the Golden Slipper, run at Rosehill net week.
Arcaded had won twice in Melbourne before an unplaced run in last month’s G1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield, her latest success making her the first juvenile in training to win three city races this season.
But she made amends in the Magic Night, showing brilliant pace from the gates to be outside the lead and then defied every challenge in the run to the line, scoring by a length from the dead-heaters Robodira and Jamaea.
Arcaded is out of the Lonhro">Lonhro mare Gloriette whose dam Viennese is a sister to the G1-winner and champion sire Snitzel and a half-sister to another successful sire, Hinchinbrook.
Trainer James Cummings said a final decision on a Golden start will be made after he and his team analyse the form before acceptance time on Tuesday, 16 March.
Street Boss stands at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $15,000 stands and nurses.
