Absinthe Minded rolls to two in a row

Daughter of Quiet American scores in Oaklawn's Bayakoa Stakes

Quiet American's ever consistent daughter Absinthe Minded made it two in a row February 18 with a powerful win in Oaklawn's Bayakoa Stakes where no one could stop her.

Running to her usual style, the five-year-old darted to the front in the one and one-sixteenth mile race. The mare held position throughout and kicked on in the stretch for an easy win. Absinthe Minded had most recently won the Pippin Stakes at Oaklawn Park for Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas.

Absinthe Minded was bred in Kentucky by Briland Farm, Robert Mitchell, and Stacy Mitchell. The mare is out of Rockford Peach, by Great Above, a half-sister to Puerto Rican Champion El Ordenador.

Quiet American has solidified himself as a powerful influence of soundness and class. He is the sire of two Eclipse Champions and 14 G1 winners thus far. His best include G1 Kentucky Derby winner Real Quiet, Bernardini's G1-winning dam Cara Rafaela, and fantastic G1 winner Switch. Quiet American stands for $15,000 at Darley USA.
