Post Time successfully defended his title in the $100,000 Polynesian Stakes with an impressive 17-length romp in the eight-furlong contest at Laurel Park on Sunday, Sept. 7.
The five-year-old horse by Frosted remains perfect at Laurel Park, improving his record at the Maryland oval to 10 for 10. Overall, Post Time improved to 12-3-4 in 20 career starts.
What started out as a small field of five for the Polynesian got even smaller with the scratch of two out of the field due to the muddy conditions. That made no difference to Post Time, who, other than racing closer to the pace than usual, took command on the far turn and pulled away through the stretch to win quite easily.
Bred in Maryland by Dr. & Mrs. Thomas Bowman, Dr. Brooke Bowman and Milton P. Higgins III, Post Time is out of the mare Vielsalm, a Stakes-winning daughter of Fairbanks. Vielsalm is a full sister to Stakes-placed Open the Bank, and hails from the family of G1 winners Rose’s Cantina and Fancy Naskra.
Sire of 37 Stakes winners, Frosted is represented by additional 2025 Stakes winners Flood Zone (G3 Gotham Stakes); Meringue (KY Downs Juvenile Fillies Stakes); Winterberry (Bison City Stakes); White Rocks (Cincinnati Trophy); Frosty View (Blair’s Cove Minnesota Turf Championship) and Frost At Dawn (Listed Cecil Frail Stakes in England).
