Arctic Glamour sparkles on return in the G2 Hot Danish Stakes

Frosted mare toughs it out for second Stakes success

Arctic Glamour made a stylish return to form at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 8 November, claiming the G2 Hot Danish Stakes over 1,400m with a gritty, front-running performance.

The five-year-old daughter of Darley stallion Frosted raced prominently throughout under Tom Sherry, taking up a position outside the leader before showing real determination in the straight to hold off Bauhinia by a long neck, with Snow In May a further 1.7 lengths away in third.

Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, Arctic Glamour stopped the clock at 1:22.45 on a Good 4 surface, her third career win and second at Stakes level. The victory marked a welcome return to the winner’s stall for the mare, who previously defeated subsequent triple G1 winner Joliestar in the Listed Reginald Allen Stakes at Randwick in 2023.

Bred by The Toorak Thoroughbred Breeding Trust, Arctic Glamour is out of the Not A Single Doubt mare Fartoo Flashy, also the dam of Stakes winner Waging War.

Her sire Frosted, a triple G1 winner on the track, continues to make his presence felt around the world. In recent weeks, his progeny Post Time and Meringue have both recorded Stakes victories over 1,600m.

Standing at Darley’s Jonabell Farm in Kentucky for US$12,500, Frosted has sired 37 Stakes winners among his 482 global winners.
