Street Sense mare claims third Stakes success in Australia

Politeness wins Listed Bel Esprit Stakes at Caulfield

Politeness, a daughter of Street Sense, claimed her third Stakes success with a fast-finishing victory in the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield, April 18.

After settling towards the rear of the field in the early stages, jockey Nick Hall weaved his way through the field rounding the final bend before bringing Politeness to the centre of the track on straightening. The four-year-old finished powerfully over the concluding stages to score an impressive win.

Already a multiple G3 winner, Politeness was bred by Sledmere Stud and is the second winner and first Stakes winner out of the unraced Commands mare Berengaria who is a half-sister to G2 winner Thackeray and Listed winner Fairytales.

Street Sense has enjoyed a tremendous start to 2015 with Politeness joining G1 Las Virgenes Stakes winner Callback and G1 Randwick Guineas winner Hallowed Crown as one of seven Stakes winners for their sire this year.
