Oliviaofthedesert strikes late to win Panthers Stakes at Prairie Meadows

Bernardini filly rallies in the stretch to notch her second Stakes victory

Oliviaofthedesert swept past the frontrunning Sister Annie in deep stretch to win the one mile Panthers Stakes by a length at Prairie Meadows June 4.

It was the second Stakes victory for the three-year-old daughter of Bernardini, who entered the race off a sharp second-place finish in the Weber City Miss Stakes at Pimlico.

Settled at the rear of the field early, Oliviaofthedesert began to advance on the far turn before rallying three-wide in the stretch to post the one-length victory.

Out of the Stakes-placed Unbridled's Song mare, Queenie's Song, Oliviaofthedesert was bred by Timber Town Stable, LLC, and Jane Winegardner in Kentucky. Queenie's Song is out of G3 winner/G1-placed Queen of Money, dam of multiple Stakes winner/G3-placed Quiet Cash, Stakes winner Pocketfullofpesos, and the Stakes-placed duo of Auditor and Miss Skagit State.

Bernardini is having yet another good year in 2021. In addition to Oliviaofthedesert, he is the sire of Bourbonic, winner of the G2 Wood Memorial. He is also represented by the talented fillies Micheline, winner of the G2 Hillsborough Stakes and Farsighted, winner of the Any Limit Stakes.

Bernardini is standing the 2021 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $35,000, stands and nurses.
