Hard Spun’s two-year-old daughter Actis posted an impressive victory in the $100,000 My Trusty Cat Stakes at Delta Downs on Tuesday, November 25.
Actis broke alertly in the seven-and-one-half furlong dirt contest but was content to settle at the rear of the pack during the early stages. She made a big move down the backstretch to pass the majority of the field and took command around the turn before pulling away through the stretch to win easily by almost five lengths.
Bred in Kentucky by Lantern Hill Farm LLC, Phil Needham & Judy Needham, Actis is out of the Mr. Greeley mare Miss Relentless and is a half-sister to Stakes winners Miss Stormy D and Evil Lyn.
Actis is one of 19 Stakes performers for Hard Spun in 2025, along with G2 winner Gas Me Up, G3 winners Pondering and Elysian Field, and Listed winner and G1-placed Highway Robber.
Hard Spun will stand the 2026 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $20,000, stands and nurses.
