Travel Column heads to the G1 Alcibiades on October 2nd!

One of two 2020 TDN Rising Stars sired by Frosted
New TDN Rising Star Travel Column

When Frosted's two-year-old daughter Travel Column entered the starting gate for her debut on September 4th at Churchill Downs, the tote board didn't show a very large spread in the odds with at least four fillies vying for favoritism. In the end, none of that really mattered as Travel Column had winning on her mind, scoring impressively to win by four and one-half lengths, while earning TDN Rising Star status. It's the second such honor given to a two-year-old by Frosted this year making him the only freshman sire with two such runners. Among all sires, only Uncle Mo and Speightstown have sired more Rising Stars in 2020 than Frosted.

Travel Column broke very well from her number eight post position and was in second place by the time the field reached the first quarter mile. She remained on the outside of the pacesetter as the field entered the turn and then quickly sprinted clear of the field by three lengths down the stretch and drew away nearing the wire.

Travel Column as a yearling at Fasig-Tipton

Bred in Kentucky by Mr. and Mrs. Bayne Welker, Jr., and Denali Stud, Travel Column is out of the three-time Black Type winner Swingit also the dam of three time G1-placed Neolithic. Travel Column was a graduate of the Denali Stud consignment in 2019 at Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga Sale where she lit up the bid board with a final bid of $850,000.

In addition to other TDN Rising Star Inject (another Denali Stud graduate; Keeneland September 2019 for $390,000), who won by six on debut at Ellis on August 15th, Frosted has also sired Frosted Prayer, who broke his maiden by 10 lengths at Churchill Downs on September 1st, and Restored Order, who broke his maiden over one and one-sixteenth miles on the turf at Saratoga on September 5th. Restored Order was purchased for $420,000 at the 2020 OBS March two-year-old sale.
