Regal Glory shines in Stewart Manor Stakes

Daughter of Animal Kingdom notches first Stakes win in just second career start

Regal Glory battled with rival Introduced through the stretch before getting her nose down on the wire first to capture the Stewart Manor Stakes at Aqueduct Nov. 11.

The two-year-old filly by Animal Kingdom remains perfect in two career starts for trainer Chad Brown and owner-breeder, Paul P. Pompa.

Sent off as the favorite in the field nine, Regal Glory overcame a slow start to quickly move up into third after just a furlong. Rallying strongly on the far turn, Regal Glory drew even with longtime leader Introduced as the field hit the top of the lane. Regal Glory and Introduced battled through the stretch, with neither filly giving in. At the wire it was Regal Glory that prevailed by a slim nose in a tight photo finish.

Bred in Kentucky by her owner, Regal Glory is out of the More Than Ready mare, Mary’s Follies, winner of the G2 Mrs. Revere Stakes and G3 Boiling Springs. Regal Glory is a half-sister to Night Prowler, winner of the G3 Transylvania Stakes and G3 Dania Beach Stakes.

Winner of the G1 Kentucky Derby and G1 Dubai World Cup during his racing career, Animal Kingdom is the sire of such standouts as Untamed Domain - winner of the G2 Summer Stakes and second in both the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf and G2 American Turf, and Peaceful State, winner of the Listed Adelaide Guineas in Australia.
