Libreta edges She’s All Ready to win the New York Stallion Stakes

Daughters of Girolamo complete the exacta in $100,000 Stakes

Libreta sat just off the pace set by She’s All Ready through the early stages of the race, then edged past her rival in deep stretch to win the New York Stallion Stakes at Aqueduct by a half-length.

It was the first Stakes win for the Godolphin-owned and Darley-bred daughter of Girolamo, who improved her record to two wins in five lifetime starts.

Libreta is out of the Ghostzapper mare, Enrichment, a full sister to multiple G1 winner, Better Lucky. She is also a half-sister to Graded Stakes winner, Sahara Heat.

Girolamo has sired 23 winners to date, including Stakes winner and G1-placed She’s All Ready; Belmont debut winner and Stakes-placed Lucky Lurie; Saratoga debut winner and Stakes-placed Backwood Bay; and Saratoga debut winner and Stakes-placed Pagan.

Girolamo is standing at Jonabell Farm for $15,000, live foal/stands and nurses.
