Godolphin’s Momayyaz scores again in France

Daughter of Elusive Quality wins second Stakes of 2015

A large field of 17 entered the gate for the 2015 running of the Prix Tantieme on November 24th but at the end of the one-mile affair, it was Elusive Quality’s Momayyaz staying on to win her second Listed event of 2015.

Tested over heavy going at Chantilly Racecourse just north of Paris, Momayyaz found the off-going to her liking and was able to hold on for the victory. She had previously won the Grosser Preis der Stadtsparkasse Dusseldorf in Germany with a second in the G3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud, also in France.

Bred by Darley in Ireland, Momayyaz is out of the winning Pivotal mare Surrealism, a half-sister to G3 winner/G1-placed Bauer. Surrealism is also a half to the dam of Listed winner Bezique.

Elusive Quality is the sire of 14 G1 winners lifetime, including the likes of Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Australian Champion Sepoy, and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass. The sire's top runners in 2015 include G2 Santa Ynez Stakes winner Seduire, and G3 winners Maverick Wave, Beauty Parlor and Eh Cumpari.
