Street Boss's three-year-old daughter Fair Maiden became her sire's newest high level winner with a convincing victory in the G1 La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita on December 26th. She's expected to start next in the G2 Santa Monica Stakes at Santa Anita on February 13.
Near the rear of the field through the early stages of the seven-furlong contest, Fair Maiden made a sweeping five-wide move into the stretch and pulled away to an easy win under jockey Ricardo Gonzalez.
Last year as a two-year-old, Fair Maiden was a seven-length winner of the Catch a Glimpse Stakes and was third beaten a neck in the G1 Natalma, both on the turf at Woodbine. She returned this year off a lengthy layoff to win a six-furlong allowance at Churchill Downs in her first start on dirt, and most recently was fourth in the Fort Springs Stakes going six furlongs on the dirt at Keeneland.
Fair Maiden was bred in Kentucky by her owner, Godolphin. She is out of Shieldmaiden, a winning daughter of Smart Strike whose second dam is G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Secret Status.
Fair Maiden is the 7th G1 winner for her sire Street Boss, whose other top-lever winners include G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Cathryn Sophia, G1 Arkansas Derby winner Danza, G1 King's Bishop winner Capo Bastone, and G1 American Oaks winner Decked Out. Only four stallions have been represented by more G1 winners since 2013 and they all stand for $150,000 or higher!
Street Boss will stand the 2021 breeding season at Jonabell Farm in Kentucky for a fee of $15,000, stands and nurses.
