Essential Quality’s son Tacticality uses front-running tactics to break his maiden at Belmont

Becomes the 12th winner for his freshman sire

Tacticality, a 2-year-old son of Champion Essential Quality, made every pole a winning one in a sharp maiden special weight score at Belmont at Aqueduct on October 24th.

Breaking alertly from the gate, the bay colt immediately took command under confident handling and never looked back. Setting an honest pace throughout, Tacticality turned aside a mild challenge on the far turn before drawing clear through the stretch to register an authoritative wire-to-wire victory.

Bred by Pollock Farm and Hugh Owen in Kentucky, Tacticality was produced from the Stakes-placed Speightstown mare, Corps de Ballet, and is a half to Stakes-placed Runnin' Rocket

In addition to Tacticality, dual Essential Quality is also represented Stakes winners Chopsticks, winner of the Ellis Park Debutante, and Essential Time, winner of the Clever Trevor Stakes. Other son Confessional made his debut a winning one, capturing a maiden special weight at Keeneland on October 16 (while posting an impressive 85 Beyer), with Aye Eye taking an eye-catching maiden special weight at Saratoga in August. Essential Quality is also the sire of additional maiden special winners My World, S S Quality, El Barrio, Viva Vienne, and Essential Wild Cat.
