Max Vegas hits the jackpot on debut at Canterbury

Two-year-old colt becomes Maxfield’s seventh first-crop winner

Just as precocious as their sire, Maxfield's first crop of two-year-olds are winning early and often with six of his first seven winners victorious on debut. These include his latest, Max Vegas, who won at first asking at Canterbury on August 20th.

After breaking mid pack, the gray/roan colt methodically reeled in his rivals, taking command in late stretch, pulling away the wire.

Max Vegas was bred by Woodford Thoroughbreds in Kentucky. He is out of Stakes winner and three-time Graded-placed Viva Vegas, she a half-sister to Stakes winner/G3-placed Southern Dude.

Maxfield's six other winners are showing their talents all around the country and include Lilies N Paradise, winner at Churchill (now Stakes-placed at Delaware Park), Max Ciao, a six-and-a-quarter-length victor at Del Mar, Rock It Rob, a wire-to-wire winner at Saratoga, and Just Asap, a debut, seven-length winner at Ellis Park.
