Dads Caps repeats in G1 Carter Handicap

Son of Discreet Cat takes G1 event at Aqueduct

There's just no stopping Discreet Cat's five-year-old son Dads Caps in the G1 Carter Handicap. After winning the race in 2014, Dads Caps returned to Aqueduct April 4 to post back-to-back wins in the seven furlong event.

After wiring the Carter in 2014, Dads Caps took a slightly different approach the second time around. Stalking the pace, the five-year-old ran in a ground-saving position along the inside in third. Turning for home the son of Discreet Cat was in need of racing room, and found a spot down the stretch to charge to a dominant score.

A homebred for Vince Scuderi, Dads Caps is out of the mare Seeking The Silver, a full-sister to Stakes winner Choctaw Ridge. Dads Caps is a half-brother to 2014 G2 Matron Stakes winner Paulassilverlining and Stakes-placed runner Liza Too.

Other G1 winners for successful sire Discreet Cat are G1 Del Mar Oaks winner Discreet Marq and G1 Chandelier Stakes winner Secret Compass. Discreet Cat is the sire of 17 Stakes winners lifetime, among them eight Graded Stakes winners.

Discreet Cat stands the current breeding season for $7,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
