Winter Book stays unbeaten in Aspen Cup Stakes

Any Given Saturday filly notches another Stakes win

Three-year-old Any Given Saturday filly Winter Book continued her winning ways August 10 with a score in the Aspen Cup Stakes at Ruidoso. Winter Book was a winner of the Dale Woods Stakes at Ruidoso and the Permian Basin Stakes at Zia Park as a two-year-old.

In the six-furlong race the filly settled into a stalking position in second before traveling four wide and powering home in the stretch for another win. Winter Book is now three-for-three lifetime.

Winter Book is out of the mare Shawgatny, who has also produced Graded Stakes winner Motor City, by Street Sense, and Stakes winner Satulagi. Shawgatny is a half-sister to Graded Stakes winners W. D. Jacks and Star of Gdansk. Winter Book was bred in Kentucky by Lantern Hill Farm LLC.

Any Given Saturday is the sire of undefeated star filly Princess Arabella from his first crop, who won the Sunland Park Oaks in incredible fashion. His second crop is represented by five Stakes winners, including Dry Summer and Carving, a winner of the Real Quiet Stakes at Hollywood Park.
