Following an uneventful Stakes debut back in March, Hard Spun’s Watchyourownbobber has seen marked improvement and missed winning the G3 Jefferson Cup Stakes at Churchill Downs last time out. He put it all together on October 31st in the Showing Up Stakes at Gulfstream Park and represents the latest added-money winner for his talented sire.
In this feature at Gulfstream Park West, Watchyourownbobber went straight to the lead, a position he never relinquished in the one-mile turf event. He’s now won or placed in seven of eight starts on the turf.
Watchyourownbobber was bred in Kentucky by Ashview Farm and Colts Neck Stable. He is out of the Stakes-placed Boodles who’s dam is a half to Canadian Horse of the Year A Fleets Dancer.
Hard Spun, once again, is having a tremendous year in 2015. He continues to compete with the nation’s best stallion and is represented in 2015 by three G1 winners in Smooth Roller, Hard Aces and Hard Not to Like. His back catalog includes such runners at Champion Questing as well as other G1 winners Wicked Strong and Hardest Core.
Hard Spun will stand the 2015 season at a fee of $45,000 with standard stands and nurses term.
