Summoned Stakes To Politeness

Street Sense mare claims her second Stakes race

A winner of the G3 P.J. Bell at the final race of her three-year-old season, Street Sense mare Politeness has produced four very good efforts this time in, but went one better at Sandown in Australia on November 15, winning the G3 Summoned Stakes by two lengths.

Settling well back in the field, jockey Nicholas Hall followed his riding instructions very carefully as the mare needs to be held up until the very last moment before she produces a powerful finishing burst.

Sweeping down the outside of the field, Politeness claimed the leader with ease, surging past to record an impressive victory.

Stable foreman Stuart Webb stated post race, "She’s had the tag of the best horse in our place for a long, long time."

Bred by Miss Ann Raymond, Politeness is out of the Commands mare Berengaria, who has a Denman two-year-old name Alpina, and foaled a Street Cry colt this season in Australia.

Politeness is one of 11 Graded Stakes winners for Street Sense, who is also the sire of three-time G1 winner Sweet Reason, G1 Humana Distaff winner Aubby K and the Australian G1 Golden Rose winner Hallowed Crown. A son of Street Cry, Street Sense will stand the 2015 breeding season for $35,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
