Slip The Cable wires the field to take West Virginia Lottery Breeders’ Classic

Midshipman colt notches fourth win in fifth lifetime start

Slip The Cable took the lead right out of the starting gate and never looked back as he cruised to a six-length victory in the seven-furlong West Virginia Lottery Breeders’ Classic at Charles Town.

It was the first stakes victory for the three-year-old son of Midshipman, who now has won four of five lifetime starts.

Slip The Cable races as a homebred for Coleswood Farm Inc. He is out of Hard to Get, a winning daughter of Not For Love. Slip The Cable’s second dam is Petrouchka, winner of the G2 Mrs. Revere Stakes.

Among Midshipman’s other top runners are Lady Shipman, who set a new course record when winning the Smart N Fancy Stakes at Saratoga. He is also the sire of San Pedro Stakes winner Yiannis, Riskaverse Stakes winner Stormy Regatta, Woodbine Stakes winner Her Majesty's Flag, Happy Ticket Stakes winner Naval Command, and G2 Fountain Of Youth Stakes-placed Frammento.
