Private Prospect a runaway winner of Prairie Gold Juvenile Stakes

Discreet Cat two-year-old remains unbeaten

Two-year-old Discreet Cat colt Private Practice made quite a statement July 19 with a score in the Prairie Gold Juvenile Stakes at Prairie Meadows. After previously breaking his maiden on debut at Arlington, the colt now boasts a two-for-two record.

In the five-and-one-half-furlong race Private Prospect patiently settled into the fifth spot. Traveling five-wide around the turn, the son of Discreet Cat began to make his move and swept past competitors for a strong runaway win in the stretch by more than five lengths.

Private Practice is out of the Stakes-placed mare Private Deputy, also the dam of Stakes-placed Privately Approved. The colt was bred by Randal Family Trust, R David & Marylyn A Randal Trustees.

Discreet Cat has been represented by Stakes winners from every crop to race. They include three G1 winners and a total of eight Graded/Group winners to date - most recently Dads Caps who wired the G1 Carter in April. In 2013 his daughter Discreet Marq won the G1 Del Mar Oaks and Secret Compass impressed in the G1 Chandelier Stakes.

The stud fee for Discreet Cat is $20,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
