Desert Party sires his fifth winner at Saratoga

It's been an exciting weekend for freshman sire Desert Party. Less than 24 hours after siring his first Stakes winner, Desert Party saw another impressive winner as Can't Happen Here won in his first start at Saratoga August 16.

In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile turf race the colt ran along in fourth, saving ground on the inside. At the top of the stretch Can't Happen Here dashed to the outside and grabbed the lead for a good finish.

Bred by Black Rock Thoroughbred LLLP, the two-year-old is out of Forbidden Kiss, also the dam of G1-placed Indulgence. The colt's second dam is two-time Graded Stakes winner Rabiadella, who has produced G2 winner Diadella, multiple Stakes winner and Graded-placed Say A Novena, and Stakes winner El Kingdom.

Can't Happen Here marks the fifth two-year-old winner for Desert Party, whose son Party Pooper broke his maiden in impressive fashion in the New Westminster Handicap just yesterday. He has also been represented by Rousanne and Heart's Song, both winners at Churchill Downs, as well as debut winner Unlashthekracken in Italy.

A son of Street Cry, Desert Party was a Graded or Group winner at two, three, and four, including the G2 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga. He has seen good success in the sales ring, including a $460,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky yearling last July and a $425,000 sale at this year's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale of Two-Year-Olds In Training.
