Louisville First determined winner of New York Stallion Series Cupecoy’s Joy Stakes

Daughter of Girolamo breaks through to earn her first Stakes victory

Louisville First rallied from just off the pace to win the seven-furlong New York Stallion Series Cupecoy’s Joy Stakes by a half-length at Belmont Park.

It was the first Stakes victory for the three-year-old daughter of Girolamo, who was making just her second start on the turf.

Bred in New York by Mr. and Mrs. James G. Bell, Louisville First is out of Move Clickly, a winning daughter of champion Cherokee Run. Louisville First is a half-sister to Fioretti (by Bernardini), winner of the G2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes and she hails from the immediate family of Manahan McLir, winner of the G2 American Derby.

Girolamo has sired 28 winners to date, including Stakes winner and G1-placed She’s All Ready, Stakes winner Libreta, and Stakes-placed runners Pagan, Backwood Bay, and Lucky Lurie.
