Lexington Street cruises to easy victory in Maryland Million Lassie

Daughter of Street Sense victorious in Stakes debut

Lexington Street made her Stakes debut a winning one with a powerful five-and-three-quarter-length score in the Maryland Million Lassie Stakes at Laurel Park.

Racing just off the early pace, Lexington Street moved into contention on the far turn before taking command at the top of the stretch and pulling away for the impressive victory. It was the second straight win for the daughter of Street Sense, who has now won two of three lifetime starts for owner-breeder Marathon Farms, Inc.

Lexington Street is out of Lexington Girl, a full sister to Magicalmysterycat, winner of the G2 Schuylerville Stakes, and Burmilla, winner of the G2 Honorable Miss.

Street Sense is the sire of 17 Stakes winners this year including G1 winners Wedding Toast, Hallowed Crown, and Callback. Street Sense captured the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on his way to earning championship honors in 2006. This year, his daughter, Wedding Toast, is one of the top contenders for the G1 Breeders' Cup Distaff.
