Her Majesty's Flag reigns in Duchess Stakes

Midshipman filly wins at Woodbine

It was a royal affair in the Duchess Stakes July 19 as three-year-old filly Her Majesty's Flag, by Midshipman, posted a game win in the Woodbine event.

Racing just off the pace in the seven-furlong race, the daughter of Midshipman was always in contention traveling on the outside of a tightly-packed field. Turning for home Her Majesty's Flag took aim for the lead, and held off foes down the lane for the win.

Bred by Sun Valley Farms, Her Majesty's Flag is out of the Point Given mare Regal Point, a half-sister to G2 winner Regally Appealing and Stakes winner Regal Miss Copelan, the dam of Graded Stakes winner Rockport Harbor.

As the newest Stakes winner for sire Midshipman, Her Majesty's Flag joins company with four-time Stakes winner and turf sprint specialist Lady Shipman, San Pedro Stakes winner Yiannis, and Happy Ticket Stakes winner Naval Command. The sire has also been represented by G2 Fountain Of Youth Stakes-placed Frammento. An Eclipse Champion Two-Year-Old, Midshipman was the fastest-ever winner of the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
