Elusive Quality sires first two home in G2 Grande Premio Proclamacao da Republica

Sai De Baixo captures second Graded Stakes in a row

One week after Elusive Quality's Birkin Bag and Bonaparte finished 1-2 in the G1 Grande Premio Derby Paulista in Brazil, the sire was back with another exacta, this time in the G2 Grande Premio Proclamacao Da Republica at Cidade Jardim. Four-year-old filly Sai De Baixo added her second Graded Stakes win, while three-year-old colt Desejado Magee, already a G2 winner, finished a close second.

In contention stalking the pace throughout much of the five-furlong turf race, Sai De Baixo kicked into gear in the final stages to take over the lead and come away a winner. The filly captured the G3 Grande Premio Independencia over the same course in September.

Bred and owned by Haras Old Friends Ltd. in Brazil, Sai de Baixo is a daughter of Royal Academy mare Ke Mint, a half-sister to G2 winner and G1-placed Mary Re.

The sire of 13 G1 winners around the world, Elusive Quality is best known for G1 Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, Australian Champion Sepoy, G1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, and multiple G1 winner and leading freshman sire Quality Road. Elusive Quality will stand the upcoming 2015 breeding season for $40,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
