Desert Party filly makes it look easy in Maiden Special Weight win

Desideria is sire's 8th winner

Two-year-old Desert Party filly Desideria came home a clear winner September 27 in a Maiden Special Weight at Belterra Park in only her second start. The filly represents the eighth winner for the first-year sire.

In the five-and-one-half-furlong race Desideria was third tracking the pace along the inside. Around the turn she swung wide then found an opening at the top of the lane, traveling between horses and running away as an impressive winner.

Bred by Cloyce C. Clark, the Desert Party filly is out of multiple Stakes winner and G3 Arlington Matron-placed Stop A Train, a half-sister to Stakes winner and G3-placed Sunset Kisses. Desideria is a half-sister to Stakes-placed Cow Catcher.

A son of talented sire Street Cry, Desert Party's first crop of winners include Party Pooper who broke his maiden in the New Westminster Handicap, debut Saratoga Maiden Special Weight winner Can't Happen Here, and impressive Del Mar winner Desert Willow, among others. A Graded/Group winner at two, three, and four including the G2 Sanford Stakes, Desert Party has also experienced good results at auction including a $460,000 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky yearling last July and a $425,000 sale at this year's Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale of Two-Year-Olds In Training.
