Australian G3 double for Street Sense

Hallowed Crown and Politeness score in Randwick features

Street Sense recorded a G3 double at Randwick April 12, with Hallowed Crown and Politeness both scoring on the first day of Syndey's new two-day carnival, The Championships.

Juvenile colt Hallowed Crown remained unbeaten with a comfortable victory in the opening race on the card, the G3 Kindergarten Stakes over 5 ½f.

An impressive debut winner on debut at Randwick last month, Hallowed Crown graduated to Group class with ease, relishing the heavy conditions to record a two-length win.

A homebred for Gooree Park Stud, Hallowed Crown is th seventh foal and second G3 winner for Danehill mare Crowned Glory, a G3 winner herself and runner-up in the G1 Golden Slipper as a juvenile. Crowned Glory’s dam Significant Moment is a half-sister to G1 winner and Champion stallion Zabeel.

In the third race, three-year-old filly Politeness gave her sire a feature race double with a last-to-first win in the G3 PJ Bell Stakes over 6f. In winning she became the 11th Group or Graded Stakes winner for her sire.

Bred by the late Ann Raymond, Politeness is the third foal of Commands mare Berengaria, a half-sister to Stakes winners Thackeray and Fairytales.

The sire of G1 winners Sweet Reason and Aubby K, Street Sense is standing at Jonabell Farm at a fee of $40,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
